Guardian editorial/debate – Turkey: Summer of the patriarch #direngeziparki #gezi #occupygeziparki #occupytaksim

The following is a link to an editorial on the situation in Turkey (uprising/revolt/revolution) that will be published in tomorrow’s Guardian (12 June). The editorial is fairly interesting, but the comments below are particularly worth reading – albeit without anybody currently in Turkey itself participating in the debate, presumably due to the heavy level of internet censorship in that country.

  1. Within 10 minutes of posting this, my blog got 5 hits from within Turkey. Either internet censorship attempts by the authorities are being thwarted or the authorities themselves are monitoring internet traffic about the situation in Turkey. Unfortunately, I think it’s the latter.
